Temby Customised – 2014 No.5
This trumpet is similar in design and materials to the Temby Customised – 2014 No. 3 with the addition of a yellow brass top inner tuning slide. The custom number 5 offers the same versatility and response as the number 3 except it has a slightly tighter feel for the player who enjoys a very secure slotting instrument. The custom number 5 has been fitted with MAW valves, which provide smoother transition between harmonics, enhanced tone characteristics and improved intonation. It has a unique engraving design on the bell and is signed by David Temby.
Featuring Temby’s 375L lightweight standard taper bell with larger 5″ diameter, providing a lively sound with focus. The nickel silver reverse leadpipe provides an easy blow with a yellow brass inner top for the tuning slide, providing a slightly tighter feel. This is a great all round horn that excels when you need a more focussed sound at higher volumes.
Tim Weir plays Temby the prototype of this lead horn at Dizzy’s Jazz Club. “I liked a lot about the horn and think there’s some great stuff already in there. It will be really cool to see where this one ends up! I’d love another chance to play on it,”
