Where are they made? +
Temby instruments have been made for more than a decade. All design, development, modelling and testing is done in Australia by David Temby in conjunction with professional flautists. The main making processes are conducted in our factory in Taiwan and all final work is undertaken in our workshop in Melbourne. David spends a lot of time in our factory ensuring that quality is maintained to an exceptional standard. -
Should I buy a C Foot or B Foot flute? +
Forgetting the extra semi tone range for a moment - the B foot flute will have more resistance than the same C foot flute. So if you like that extra air column support and the sound and feel that goes with it then the B foot is a good option. For most part time players or beginners we suggest a C foot flute may be friendlier. -
Open hole or closed hole? +
Some players say that an open hole flute encourages better hand position and gives a slightly different sound - however, don't be swayed too much by others - there are many professional flautists playing closed hole flutes - just be comfortable with your own choice.
